FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Qatar have VAT?

Not yet. Qatar has committed to a GCC-wide VAT framework but has not implemented VAT at the time of writing. We monitor GTA announcements and prepare clients for an eventual rollout so systems and pricing are ready before the effective date.

What Corporate Tax rate applies in Qatar?

The standard Corporate Income Tax rate is 10%, applied to the share of profits attributable to foreign shareholders. Qatari and GCC-owned share profits are generally exempt. Special rates apply to oil, gas and petrochemical activities.

What's the difference between QFC and QFZA?

QFC (Qatar Financial Centre) is an independent legal and regulatory jurisdiction with its own tax rate (10%) targeted at financial and professional services. QFZA (Qatar Free Zones Authority — Ras Bufontas and Um Alhoul) offers 0% tax holidays, 100% foreign ownership and industry-specific incentives. We advise on the right vehicle for your business model.

Do I need to file GTA returns through the Dhareeba portal?

Yes. All Qatari taxpayers must register on Dhareeba and file annual tax returns (and monthly WHT statements where applicable) through the portal. We handle registration, filing preparation and Dhareeba submission.

Which parts of Qatar do you serve?

We serve businesses across Qatar — Doha, Lusail, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Mesaieed, and the Ras Bufontas and Um Alhoul free zones — with remote delivery and Arabic-English documentation.
